  1. Log into CommSec 
  2. Click on Trading 
  3. Select the account you’d like to trade on 
  4. Select Buy 
  5. Type in the stock code or company name of the shares you want to buy 
  6. Add the number of units or the dollar value of the shares you’d like to buy 
  7. Type in a Price Limit (the highest price you're willing to pay for each share) or select At Market to buy at the available market price 
  8. Select the Expiry date or select Good for day 
  9. Review your buy order and click Proceed 
  10. When you’re ready to complete the order, click Submit
