This includes updates such as upcoming dividends, recent announcements, recommendation changes and more.

How it works

Easily accessible from your Portfolio

 

You can find Your Newsfeed on the right side of your Portfolio Summary or Account Holdings page. 

 

  1. Log in to the CommSec website
  2. Select Portfolio in the main navigation
  3. Start reading Your Newsfeed

  • Daily market update videos
  • Executive series
  • Market sensitive announcements
  • Recommendaton changes
  • Technical analysis
  • Upcoming dividends

Filter what you’d like to see by selecting or deselecting the updates that are important to you.

Frequently asked questions

Due to space limitations, you will not be able to see Newsfeed in browsers with less than 450 pixels width.

Your Newsfeed will automatically open if you are viewing your Portfolio page in a large screen size. If you are viewing your Portfolio page in a smaller screen size, a Newsfeed button will appear which you can select to open.

Your Newsfeed is populated based on the shares you hold in your Portfolio. If you have Australian Shares accounts, it will include information based on both your CHESS holdings and Issuer Sponsored holdings. Shares held with Pershing on International Accounts will not be displayed.

If you are viewing Your Newsfeed on the Portfolio Summary page, you will see information based on all your accounts. If you are viewing Your Newsfeed on the Portfolio Account Holdings page, you will see information based on the account you select.

You can still see Newsfeed, however no information will be populated. To start viewing news in Your Newsfeed you can purchase shares or add Issuer Sponsored holdings.

The information displayed in Your Newsfeed are ordered by a combination of factors including how recent the event is, the type of event, as well as the weighting of the share within your Portfolio e.g. events for a stock that accounts for over 50% of your Portfolio will likely appear higher than stocks with smaller weightings.

Yes, any changes to preferences in Your Newsfeed will be saved the next time you log in or if you log in to another device via a web browser.

Yes, at this point there are a few differences. The newsfeed in the CommSec mobile app displays information based on the shares you hold, plus companies you’ve added to your Watchlist. It also does not yet display CommSec videos updates.
