Overview

Based on customer feedback we understand that simplifying the CommSec website is an important area we need to improve. That’s why we’ve made some updates to your Portfolio pages.

Your Portfolio Summary and Accounts pages have been refreshed with a new look to help you find the information you need more easily. In addition to a simpler experience, some new features for Equities, Options and Margin Lending customers have also been rolled out.

Like the recently enhanced Quotes page, these enhancements are part of a series of ongoing improvements we’re making across the whole CommSec website. We’re always looking for ways to improve your share trading experience, so let us know your feedback via the survey link on the enhanced pages.

Please note: To make the most of these enhanced pages, we recommend that you use the latest versions of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge or Safari on the latest Microsoft Windows or Mac operating systems.

For Equities customers

Changes

  • Upcoming settlements will be displayed for each individual account on your Portfolio Summary page.
  • Accounts will be grouped by entity making it easier to find your accounts. For example if you hold accounts in both your individual name and company name, all accounts in your individual name will be grouped together and all accounts in your company name will be grouped together.
  • To make way for some new features, ‘Market Indices’ currently featured on the right hand side of your Portfolio pages, will no longer be available. You can still access this information on the Home page or Quotes & Research > Markets page.
  • Your Portfolio Health Check chart will now be accessible via the new ‘Health Checks’ button on the Portfolio Summary page.

New features

  • View the percentage weight of a particular holding within your portfolio via the new ‘Wgt %’ column on the Portfolio Accounts > Holdings page.
  • New icons will be introduced to distinguish between stock status notes, basis of quotations (represented by numbered icons) and market sensitive announcements (represented by a bell icon).

For Options customers

Changes

  • Your options will be grouped by the underlying asset. For example, all options you hold on CBA will be grouped together. We’ll also display the last price and change of CBA with your options holdings.

New features

  • A notification will be displayed 2 weeks prior to your options expiring.
  • Download a csv file of your options information, formatted specifically for the ASX Margin estimator, so you can calculate the theoretical fair value for options and estimate margins more easily.
  • View the new ‘last traded date’ and ‘yesterday’s theoretical closing value’ fields, alongside ‘last traded price’, to help you assess the true value of your options.

For Margin Lending customers

Changes

  • All information related to your margin loan will be moved to the new ‘Loan Details’ tab. This includes loan summary, interest summary and borrower details.

New features

  • A notification will be displayed 30 days prior to your fixed loan expiry.
  • View your margin loan status across all Portfolio pages for greater visibility.
  • View your loan transaction details, including sub-loans, within a 1 year date range (previously limited to a 1 month date range).
