Overview

Based on customer feedback we understand that simplifying the CommSec website is an important area we need to improve. That’s why we’ve made a few more updates to the Quotes page.

These enhancements are part of a series of ongoing improvements we’re making across the CommSec website. We’re always looking for ways to improve your share trading experience, so let us know your feedback via the survey link on the enhanced pages.

Please note: To make the most of these enhanced pages, we recommend that you use the latest versions of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge or Safari on the latest Microsoft Windows or Mac operating systems.

What's new

Greater control of how you research

We’ve made a few more updates based on your feedback on the recently enhanced Quotes page.

  • The Quotes search bar will move with you so you can quickly identify what stock you’re looking at, plus start a new search more easily.
  • Pop out the market depth table to view Prices, Orders and Course of Sales in a new window.
  • Collapse the header (stock overview section) to view more information in your browser.

Global markets research made easy

Researching global markets is now simpler than ever – even without an International Share Trading Account. Access pricing information and fundamental research for stocks listed on major international exchanges, including the Nasdaq, New York Stock Exchange, and London Stock Exchange.

Please note: International Quotes cannot currently be added to Watchlists or to your Portfolio. Prices displayed on the CommSec website will be at least 20 minutes delayed for International stocks.

Consolidated ASX and Chi-X market data

Make more informed trades, with both Chi-X and ASX orders now available to view on our market depth table. For both markets, you’ll be able to see:

The trading status of the security

  • A view of each individual order in the ‘Orders’ tab
  • All executed trades for the day in the ‘Course of Sales’ tab.

Please note: Chi-X data will be available on the Quotes page first as we work to incorporate it across the website.

More advanced charting

Gain deeper insights with more advanced charting. Now you can:

  • Add and save notes to charts
  • Draw with new tools including arrow, ellipse, rectangle and Fibonacci levels
  • Use interactive features such as scroll to zoom and click and drag

The enhanced Quotes page uses new technology that may not be supported by some older browsers. We recommend that you use the latest versions of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox browsers on Microsoft Windows or Mac operating systems. For more information about recommended web browsers, click here.

The improvements we've made have been designed to make researching easier for you. There is no change to the way your order is executed. As we are connected to the ASX TradeMatch, ASX CentrePoint and Chi-X Australia trading venues, we will continue to automatically send all or part of your order to these venues to be executed, seeking the best possible price in accordance with our Best Execution Policy.

Chi-X Australia is an alternative trading venue to ASX TradeMatch on the ASX which uses its own trading system and provides trading in a subset of ASX listed securities. Chi-X may also be represented on our platform as CXA, which is simply a code that identifies Chi-X Australia.

Continuous trading hours for Chi-X are between 10:00am and 4:00pm, Monday to Friday and unlike the ASX, Chi-X Australia does not operate an opening and closing auction. You can learn more about Chi-X Australia by visiting their website, www.chi-x.com.au.

We're working on incorporating Chi-X data across our website. We’ll provide you with more updates as we roll out more enhancements.
