What is a Client ID?

A CommSec Client ID is an 8-digit number that begins with a '5' which allows you to access all of your CommSec accounts with a single login. If you don’t remember your Client ID, you can retrieve it online.

Please note: For security reasons, you’re unable to view your Client ID once you have logged into your account.

Why use a Client ID instead of an account number?

Your Client ID is an 'umbrella' ID that groups all your CommSec accounts, so rather than having to log in separately for every account (such as Equities, Options, Margin Lending), you can access them all via just one login.

What if one of my accounts is not linked to my Client ID?

If you can’t see one of your accounts when you log in with your Client ID, please call CommSec on 13 15 19 or +61 2 9115 1417 if calling from overseas (Monday to Friday, 8am to 7pm, Sydney time) and an Equties Associate will be able to link the account to your Client ID.
