Selling shares
If you are selling shares you hold, you will need to determine if they are CHESS sponsored with CommSec or held with the share registry. If your shares are sponsored with CommSec you can view them in Portfolio > *Select account* > Holdings under the CHESS heading.

If they do not appear on your portfolio, they may be issuer sponsored and therefore require a shareholder reference number (SRN) to proceed with the sell order. If you are unsure of what this number is, please refer to your holding statement or a recent dividend statement.

If your shares are held with another broker, you can transfer your shares over to CommSec by completing a broker-to-broker request. For more information, click here.

For any further information or assistance please call CommSec on 13 15 19 or +61 2 9115 1417 if calling from overseas (Monday to Friday, 8am to 7pm, Sydney time).
