Consent and Confidentiality Acknowledgement

 

Thank you for agreeing to join and participate in our customer feedback panel (“Panel”). Your feedback is important and will be used by CommSec to help make improvements to our products, features and services. Your participation will be governed by the terms of this Acknowledgment.

1. Your participation as a member of the Panel will involve providing feedback and insight about topics such as your investing experience and how you use CommSec. There may be specific items to give feedback about, such as new updates, improvements or offerings from CommSec. You may be requested to provide feedback in a variety of ways including answering online surveys or participating in interviews (online, by phone or in person).

2. As a member of the Panel, you may have access to a variety of benefits depending on your involvement. Benefits may include early access to new initiatives or product and service updates, gift cards and merchandise. You will be notified of any benefits when you are invited to provide feedback or to take part in an activity.

3. CommSec seeks to conduct business in accordance with the highest ethical standards and to comply with all applicable laws and rules. As such, benefits are not offered in connection with any effort to obtain or retain business from you or to improperly benefit or influence you.

4. You are free to opt out of membership of the Panel at any time. To do so, please follow any “opt-out” link provided in electronic messages we send you or contact the CommSec research team CommSecResearch@cba.com.au. You agree that we are not required to include an unsubscribe facility in commercial electronic messages we send you.

5. For the purposes of or in the process of joining the Panel or when providing your feedback as a member of the Panel, we may collect information about you. The information collected may include personal details such as your name, date of birth, address, phone number and financial details such as your income, assets and liabilities. The information you enter will be used for research purposes only and will be stored securely on CommSec’s internal network and will not be disclosed to any party outside of CommSec and the wider Commonwealth Bank of Australia Group and its service providers. 6.  As part of the process of or for the purpose of providing feedback as, a member of the Panel we may record you or ask you to record yourself, including obtaining audio, video, and photos of you. This recorded material will be stored securely and not uploaded on any public facing websites or apps.

7. You waive the right to inspect or approve the recorded material and you agree that CommSec will own the intellectual property in the recorded material and that CommSec may edit, amend, alter or vary the recorded material including your image as it requires. You will not be entitled to any royalties or payments of any kind in relation to your appearance in the recorded material.

8. As part of your participation in the Panel, CommSec may disclose to you certain information relating to its products, features, services, ideas, concepts, initiatives, innovations, plans and processes. All such information is confidential to CommSec (“Confidential Information”).

9. You agree to keep confidential all Confidential Information and not to disclose or cause or permit the disclosure of the Confidential Information to any other person (including family and friends) without the prior written consent of CommSec.

10. We may vary the terms of this Consent and Confidentiality Acknowledgement on providing you with notice of the variation no later than the day the variation takes effect. We may notify you by publishing details of the change on our website and informing you of this.
