How do I manage the estate of a deceased CommSec customer who held an account in a company name?
Company accounts require different measures when it comes to estate management. In the event that a director of a company with a CommSec account in its name passes, you will need to:
First, contact ASIC to update the company directorship information.
Next, update the director details on your CommSec Share Trading Account(s). To add a new director to the company, you must complete an Additional Authority Form.
Send the following documents to us by emailing commsecestatesmanagement@cba.com.au or post them to CommSec Deceased Estates, Locked Bag 22, Australia Square, NSW 1215:
- A certified copy of the Death Certificate, and
- The completed Additional Authority Form, and
- A certified copy of the new director's identification (Passport or Driver's Licence)
