How do I transfer funds in and out of my International Shares Account?

To transfer funds to or from your International Shares Account, follow the steps below:

  • Log in to CommSec and navigate to Portfolio
  • Locate your International Shares Account and select Transfer Funds

On the Transfers page, you will be able to specify the desired amount you wish to transfer from your linked bank account, into your International Shares Account. To request the transfer:

  • Select Transfer to International Wallet or Transfer from International Wallet
  • Enter the amount you want to transfer in Australian Dollars (AUD)
  • The funds will be withdrawn from your linked bank account and deposited into your International Shares Account or vice versa
  • Upon the transfer's completion, your Transferable funds will be updated

Before you place a trade, you must first have funds available to trade. This will be displayed as Tradable funds. All funds must be in Australian dollars. We do not accept fund transfers in international currency. If you do not have sufficient funds in your linked bank account, the transfer will not be processed.

How long does it take to transfer funds to or from my International Shares Account?

Deposit and withdrawal requests are typically processed within a number of seconds, but they may take up to a minute after submission, however, these requests may not be processed immediately over throughout the weekend or after market close (evening Eastern time).
