How to update your trade confirmation preferences

  • Change your trade preferences
  • Where can I find my trade confirmations on the website?
  • Can I have my trade confirmations resent to me?
  • Can trade confirmations be sent to multiple emails?

You can have your trade confirmations (also known as contract notes) delivered via either email or post.

There is no fee for email confirmations. However, if you select the post option, they're sent to your nominated postal address at a charge of $1.95 for each paper confirmation. This fee is added to the total amount payable for a buy order, or subtracted from the proceeds of a sell order.

How to update your preferences:

  • Log in to your CommSec account
  • Go to Portfolio
  • Select Accounts and then use the dropdown to choose the relevant account
  • Click on “View or edit account details”
  • Complete any additional security requirements
  • Scroll down to the “Trade confirmations” section and click “Edit”
  • Make your changes and click “Save”

In this section, you can also choose to receive order notifications via email. If you opt in to this, we’ll email you whenever one of your orders is amended or cancelled.

Where can I find my trade confirmations on the website?

To view all your trade confirmations, log in to your CommSec account and go to Trading > Shares > Confirmations (or just click here). Here you’ll find a summary of all your past trade confirmations, including the purchase price and brokerage paid.

Can I have my trade confirmations resent to me?

We can reissue trade confirmations, however for security reasons you’ll need to call us and be identified before we can reissue them to you.

The easiest way to get a copy of your trade confirmations is to download them yourself online by logging in to your account and going to Trading > Shares > Confirmations.

Can trade confirmations be sent to multiple emails?

Yes. Here’s how to add additional email addresses:

  • Log in to your CommSec account and go to Settings
  • Click on “View or edit details” and follow the security prompts
  • Scroll down to the “Contact details” section and select “Edit”
  • Add the additional email addresses to your account
  • Once the email addresses have been added, go to Portfolio
